As my bus was speeding on the elevated tollway across Electronic city, the two drivers and the assistant were busy cracking jokes. I was the only one left in the huge multi axle as almost everyone got down in Hosur and Electronic city. It was then all four of us noticed a couple standing on the rest-bay of the tollway. The guy was slowly moving his right to the girl\’s waist and holding her close to him. The drivers looked at each other. The assistant who is hardly in his teens blushed. Being used to all these sights in Chennai and Mumbai, I turned my gaze away to the long road ahead. But then came an interesting comment from the driver. \”This is why girls should be married as soon as they are 18.\” The rest two nodded in agreement. When the bus slowed down at the next stop, I casually asked the driver where is he from. His answer surprised me. \”Born and brought up in this very same city, Bangalore.\” Slowly, it started to strike me that Bangalore does have a conservative side. I pressed him further about his whereabouts. He said he studied in an English medium school in Bangalore city till 7th std and failed. Since then, he has been working here and there and finally ended up as a driver for KPN travels. The other driver too had a similar life. But I still couldn\’t digest the fact a Bangalorean can be conservative.

Yes, even a gold coin has two sides.
