College phase.

\’Life begins once you are out of your college.\’ Few years back, I heard this somewhere and dismissed it. But 3 years post my college life, today, I look back and think; that is so right. Life only beings when you are done with academic studies. Why I mention \’academic studies\’ in particular is because I am a firm believer, no human believe is ever done with studies.

When we look back and think why haven\’t we enjoyed college more, the most common answer we will possibly get is we were thinking what were we doing with life at that point. Today, most college going friends of mine ask me the same question. What are they doing with their lives? They just suddenly feel they are wasting time and not doing anything productive. Well boys and girls, you are studying. That is productive. You are learning life. That is productive.

College life is a phase in life where you are out of the barriers of school, yet not independent completely. Slowly, you are building the base to become independent with college life. What you learn from this phase usually defines you to the other people. This phase also changes the outlook and perspective of you. You start looking around things more carefully and understand how your parents are earning and fighting out each day. How other people are living. What exactly is going on in this world. A much clearer perspective. A much clearer mindset.

Nobody is wasting time during this period, even if you are not studying what you actually wanted to study. You may be least interested in that case, with whatever being taught through never-ending lectures and gigantic text books. But you are learning to be with new people. You are coping up with something which you never wanted to do. Although I don\’t support such acts of parents forcing children to study against their wish, I also think at some points we should be forcefully pushed to an uncomfortable end where we fight against all the odds and come out victorious. The lessons and experiences learned and gained from such points makes life much easier in the years to come.

Don\’t worry if you think you are wasting your time during your college life period. Its just a sign of you getting more matured in life.
