2018 – where did you go?

Its the last month of 2018. Wait, what? Yeah. Its getting over. How fast did it go? Well, no one has any idea.
It wouldn\’t be an exaggeration from my side to say 2018 has been the most fast-paced year; at least in my life. I remember the first week of January like it was yesterday. I had a surprise visit from a friend, hangouts, the usual Ernakulam drives and then in February, La Musica happened. That was a major break through, right! I am still amazed at the appreciation and media support we got all through that month and next. Mid-way through March I started thinking about Waft and in April we shot it. In May, we completed the works of Waft and it was time for my sister\’s wedding. It was over in a flash! Humph.

In between this, the studio versions of Theevandi songs happened. It was such an overwhelming experience to shoot Job Kurian and Tovino. I can\’t thank my stars enough for those two days of absolute riveting experience. I also made \’Shayad\’ – my third music video.
Back to counting, in June, we had a screening of Waft at my institute in Mumbai and it just passed just like that. July, I think I was jobless. Waking up everyday, loading the Film Freeway sites, submitting Waft to umpteen film festivals and reload the submission pages to check the status! Sheesh, that was engaging! Floods took away August and September, it suddenly hit me life is heading no where. What did I do? Sleep. Zzz.
On an October morning, it hit me there is no point in delaying the YouTube release of Waft. So we fixed it for November. Now, November was the busiest month I have ever had in a long time. Planning and shooting the first schedule of my new music video, then the release of Waft and finally, the award show at Mumbai. Damn. That was hectic. I would happily say, November ended with a lot of happiness, friendships and love.
December. Sigh. As it is the case in past 5 years, December is for IFFK and there you go! 2018 is over.
There was a time somewhere in November where I thought it was only me who is feeling 2018 is just flying through. But I was wrong. Friends getting married is an alarm; an alarm to how fast the time is going, you know!
2019. Be slow. Be good. Be lovely.
