The limits of style.

Deciding what to wear on a particular day or to a particular place is completely a personal choice. Of course, some places have their own norms and dress codes to be followed. Anywhere without a dress code, people are free to wear anything they want and make a visit anytime they want. But the morale of a person should play decisive role on what an appropriate outfit would be to certain places. For example, you can\’t wear a bikini to a wedding. Nobody has asked you not to wear it but, even if you are with your college friends deciding to have fun, you just wouldn\’t opt to wear a bikini to a wedding.
Call me conservative or narrow minded, but I am totally against wearing \’innovative\’ or \’influenced\’ outfits to college. Places like college, school etc should be respected and the respect should be shown by your appearance and behavior. Wearing black tshirt / kurta and white dhoti to college is totally fine, with or without reference to Onam, but just because Nivin Pauly donned it in a film, you can\’t name after it. Its definitely high time to stop blaming Cinema for each and everything happening around the world. I have no idea how people get their minds to work to such an extent they hire Lorries and jeeps to celebrate in college. I mean, is that all the respect you owe to the place where you study to advance in life? Isn\’t it totally ridiculous?
Likewise, a recently concluded college trip has resulted in a flurry of photos where boys are seen wearing spiritual attires for fun and of course, display pictures, to Ramaoji Rao Film city. Now you can call me a hardcore film lover, but I found it highly offensive to wear such attires to a place where people work their ass off to meet the two ends of their life. Just because its film city, it doesn\’t mean you can flaunt your latest fashion and walk around. Come on, Film cities are made up of sweat and blood of thousands. They worked their lives out for the upcoming generations to come and make beautiful films without the toil of having a set prepared. There, you see college kids going to have fun in \’innovative attires\’. A film city is not an amusement park. Oh yeah, Ramoji film city does have an amusement park inside it and you are free to have fun over there but not on the sets they have made. I find it really offensive. I am not sure whether I am able to convey what exactly I mean.
People have this general concept everyone can make films or everyone can end up in film industry. Try being a part of this beautiful industry and see for yourself if its all too easy and everyone can make it. People just see cinema as an medium of entertainment and nothing more. They don\’t care about the toil behind a cinema or the brainstorming. Its all about entertainment and money. This attitude is definitely the reason for the gradual decreasing of cinema with art value and also why people wear such attires to film cities.
Respect every field. Respect every opinion. Respect everyone.
