A note on Experience.

Experience – the knowledge or mastery of an event or subject gained through involvement or exposure to it. But people like me never counts on experience expecting everyone to be different from the other and every situation to be different from other. Not denying, everyone is unique in one way or the other but the crust might be the same when it comes to a certain matter. In terms of film making, experience is the best knowledge one can ever get. There is nothing better than experience in the field. It matters in sports as well. For example, last week in the IPL when Mumbai Indians were playing Delhi Daredevils, the youngster Shreyas Iyer was taking on Malinga and then came the yorker to which the batsman tried to scoop and instead played on. Out came the experienced Angelo Mathews and he was welcomed with the same kind of delivery. He moved a feet to the leg side before drilling the ball through wide mid off for a cracking boundary! See the difference?
I come across certain relatives who ask me whether there are any further courses in film making and why am I not doing it. My answer would be \”Film making should be learned with experience. There are no text books for it.\” In this world, there is nothing better than experience. But what really matters is whether people count on experience. Sometimes you might panic in a crunchy situation but if you have experienced such an atmosphere before, believe me, you would be able to over come it without much wounds. For a writer, (s)he should have two experiences; one is reading experience and two is writing experience. These will improve the language. For a singer/dancer, practicing is the experience. For a businessman, having the perfect mind to analyse the situation will guide through the first phase and later this will start counting as experience. I firmly believe life is all about experience. I consider myself an year advanced because my age-mates might have just completed their bachelors whereas I did an year back. This one year counts me a lot because of the additional responsibilities and also the fact I got to acquaintance with people a year older than me, literally. When you get to be friends or work with people who are older to you, the experience of that person gets shared and its going to do lots of good to you.
I come across a lot of teenagers who falls down with college issues and other personal messes. Not trying to devalue the issues, but being a person who has seen every bit of all these, these are simply nothing especially the college fights. College life is a delightful experience for everyone. They should enjoy every single bit of it without much fuss. Arguments, debates and fights are just a part of every college life. But two years later, you realize they only added cherry on the top. Therefore it should be well taken care not to let it affect you too much and screw it up completely. From my experience who kinda took it a little bit far and messed it up for what regret still eludes me, I must say friendships go through the toughest tests ever and coming out successful will only happen if you adore what you share. At the heat of the moment, don\’t take any decision because it can totally ruin it all. These little stuffs will be the one to consider as an experience when you grow up and who knows, you might come with a better article than this!
\”Experience is not what happens to you; its what you do with what happens to you.\”
